Our research on the importance of diazotrophs in sustaining primary productivity of the invasive marine plant Halophila stipulacea is under the spotlight of some italian newspapers. On the map below you can follow the spread of Halophila stipulacea throughout the oceans, aided by human activity and climate change. Our research suggests that the association of this plant with diazotrophic bacteria could also contribute to its invasiveness.
